"What moves us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more touch. May we begin to remember not just that you passed.....but that you lived. And your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget. Rest in Paradise, our beloved Kyle Brandon. Sleep tight."
The Kyle Brandon Traves Foundation was founded to continue Kyle's dreams and aspirations by supporting others through scholarships and financial support focused on higher education, sports, music, and mental health. With your support, we have provided funding to numerous worthwhile causes including:
Reel Comfort, a tiff program that works with thousands of individuals living with mental illness each year, by supporting them on their path to wellness through hands-on workshops, special guest visits, and film screenings.
Youthdale, a community based agency that provides treatment and integrated mental health services to children and their families.
Zach Makes Tracks, a Barrie to Ottawa “ride” by then 12-year-old Zach, whose mission is to raise money and awareness for youth mental health initiatives in Simcoe County. His initiative was kick started by funding from the Kyle Brandon Traves Foundation.
Canadian Association for Suicide Prevention, an organization with the ultimate purpose of reducing suicide rates in Canada and to minimize the consequences of suicidal behaviour.
Allison Zeppieri Fund, which has funded mental health education and treatment initiatives at Mackenzie Health Hospital in Richmond Hill.
Popping Bubbles, an organization which supports at risk individuals in communities from within to create networks that foster the unique needs and wants of individuals. Its mission is to pop the social and physical barriers that prevent people from living happy and successful lives.
SickNotWeak, a not-for-profit entity headed by Michael Landsberg. Its objectives include helping people understand that mental illness is a sickness, NOT a weakness.
Save Me Dog Rescue, a registered charity organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned dogs, provide them with loving temporary care and find them well-matched, carefully screened forever homes. By working with committed volunteers, and receiving donations they are able to rescue many dogs each year.
The Kyle Brandon Traves Media Centre, located at Beth Emeth Synagogue, is a social place for youth to meet.
The Kyle Brandon Traves Memorial Scholarship, at Western University awarded annually since inception and into perpetuity.
The financial contributions that have been made with funding from the Stomp the Stigma events have led to an indelible shift in our communities' perception towards mental health and suicide. On behalf of our family and The Kyle Brandon Traves Foundation, we want to personally thank each of you for your support, generosity, and commitment to the Stomp the Stigma event. Because of you, we have and will continue to tirelessly work towards eliminating the stigma associated with suicide and create a society that promotes and endorses open dialogue towards suicide prevention.
The prestigious and challenging Summit Golf Club in Richmond Hill was founded in 1912, the ninth oldest golf club in the Toronto area and ranked 46th best course in Canada. Today the club is a stroll through time with a strong connection to the past and keen eye on the on the future.
Measuring 6,971 yards, the members and their guests are challenged by differing characteristics for each of the 18 beautiful holes. Several holes mandate length off the tee, others require accuracy more so than distance, others yet, reward those with a precise short game. Greens are true, the sand traps strategic, and numerous elevated tees use enchanting natural vistas as backdrops. This to remind the members and guests they are at the highest point between Lake Ontario and Lake Simcoe. Therefore the name…The Summit.
Each club in the bag will come in to play during a round and walking off the 18th green always results in the urge to return to the 1st tee, a short walk away. Truly, The Summit provides the ultimate for the discriminating golfer: challenge, charm, beauty and class.
Many thanks to all our sponsors who have helped to make this great event a success.2019 Sponsors
